Position: Sr. Project Coordinaor

Educational qualification desired: Preferably PG in social sciences OR Urban planning/development Or relevant degree.

Experience desired: 5 years of working on urban governance issues, preferably on policy issues.

Skills/competencies desired: Oral/writing skills - of English is must. Knowledge of Kannada will be an asset. Analytical thinking - to analyse present policies, current situation on groud and recommend. Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence a variety of civil society groups, individuals, CBOs, NGOs, government officials, elected representatives and ward committees. Sensitive to urban development issues and urban poor issues.

Brief job description: Analyzing and drafting Model Municipal Law on people’s participation, drafting model Metropolitan Planning Committee framework, building policy position papers on land/housing/PDS/water issues in slums based on primary data, secondary data, action research, policy analysis etc.,. Advocacy with respective government agencies in various forums and with city level programmes.

Remuneration: 15K – 18K, Location: Bangalore, Work: Full time (Project Period: Jan 2009 to Dec 2011). Application should be submitted with two references. Documents on previous work (soft copies) would be appreciated.
